Questions
Good questions, plain answers.
Do I need experience?
Not usually. Each opportunity says what you’ll bring; many need only reliability and care. Where a skill is needed, such as fluent Armenian, the role says so.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes. Remote roles are marked “Remote” and are open wherever you live, unless the role says otherwise.
How much time do I need to give?
Each opportunity says how many hours and for how long. Some are a single day; others ask for a few hours a week for several months.
Is there an age limit?
Most roles are for people 18 and older. Roles marked “Ages 16+” welcome 16- and 17-year-olds with a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Do I need an account?
No. Every application has a private link that shows its status and messages. An account keeps all your applications, saved opportunities and alerts in one place, and fills in your details for you.
Will you run a background check?
Only for roles with young people or visits to families’ homes, and only once we’ve both decided to go ahead. We explain what it involves first.
Are volunteers paid?
No. Volunteering with the Foundation is unpaid. If a role has costs, such as travel to an event, the role will say how they are covered.
Can I apply for more than one opportunity?
Yes. Apply for each one you’re interested in; the teams talk to each other.
How do I withdraw or delete my data?
Open your application’s private link (or your account) and choose Withdraw, or Delete my data. See the volunteer privacy notice for what we keep and for how long.
